In this post, I share some of the best essentials to inspire you in your next cozy minimalist build.
Tips for Creating a Minimalist Look
In general, to achieve a minimalist setup “less is more” is the theme you’ll want to keep to.
Minimalism revolves around the concept of “…simplicity, clean lines, and a minimal color palette” (source: Yellowbrick).
Focus on key statement pieces instead of cluttering up your space with a lot of small accessories—but really, at the end of the day it’s your space and how you want it to be.

Choosing Your Desk Aesthetic
Your desk is a canvas, and your chosen aesthetic is the art, whether it’s a unique anime-inspired scheme or a matcha/gaming combo.
It’s a reflection of your personality and your approach to work. Here are some amazing ideas and essentials on how to create your dream cozy minimalist workspace.
1. Soft White Themed Setup

First on the list, I want to share this super cute creamy white themed desk setup.
Minimalism doesn’t always = white and boring. That’s why I love the way OP (Original Poster) manages to put together this setup that oozes soft and fluffy!
Not to mention, the monitor elevates the space even further with the fancy groove of its curve.
My first tip for keeping a clutter-free look? Get rid of that basic stand that comes with your monitor and instead opt for a desk mount. Like the Vivo desk mount!
This is not sponsored by the way; I’m just sharing it because I use it in my personal setup, and I love it!
2. Sky-blue Themed Setup

Next on the list, we’ve got this super adorable sky-blue themed setup. Although the build is minimal, I love OP’s use of the vine to bring life into the space. Alternatively, I really like this cute fairy lights idea from Crossingani, too.
3. Wood-inspired Setup

You can’t go wrong with a wood-inspired desk setup. Here, OP incorporates natural elements like wood grain to add warmth and texture to their space.
Despite the predominantly white build, OP keeps things interesting by using lots of natural wood throughout the build.
Oh! Another tip for keeping clutter-free? Use Bluetooth accessories to keep wires off your desk for that clean look.
4. Matching Wallpaper and Keyboard

In this desk setup, OP goes for a milky cream look. But what I love and thought was super creative about this setup is that OP matched the keyboard to their monitor wallpaper to bring color into the space.
Which I thought was super creative!
One tip I picked up from hours scouring the internet for inspiration and ideas? You can easily change the vibe of your workspace just by changing your PC wallpaper and desk pad. It’s an affordable and easy way to change up your space.
Take a look at the above.
If you just concentrate on the desk setup, you’ll notice that everything else is white except for the wallpaper and desk pad.
See?
Point proven.
Personally, I like the monitor clamp to keep my area mess-free, but a monitor stand is the way to go if you want extra storage space!
5. Add Some Natural Lighting

Have you ever been in a room during the middle of the day and then sudden the sun comes up from behind the cloud and light up your room and it just looks so bright and pretty?
Or, how about when the sun hits your living room at just the right angle at the right time and creates a picturesque background?
That’s what the power of lighting does.
It can make your space from gloomy and dark to sunny and bright. Of course, if you like it dark, I totally get it.
Here’s another tip for you: Natural lighting can easily influence the cozy minimalist vibe you’ve got going on.
OP doesn’t have a lot of desk space, but she makes up for it by including only a few decorations and utilizing a peg board.
6. Incorporate Soft Lighting

Don’t have access to natural lighting? Then RGB and LED lighting is the way to go.
In this build, OP uses RGB lighting to create the soft purple/blue lighting in this room—reminiscent of a cloud in the evening sky.
Which creates a rather pretty build!
Although not as minimalist as the other build, this one was too cute to pass up!.
OP’s got a really cute chair, which currently retails for $639 at the time of this writing. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have that kind of money so here’s a dupe for you!
7. Keep the Theme Cohesive

If I have a penny for the number of times I’ve said cute in this post…that would mean I’ve made $0.07!
In a similar vein of thought, you can tell this build is predominantly white, but OP incorporates accessories that don’t fall too far from the theme she’s got going on.
Another tip: Keep everything centered around one theme to give the space a cohesive look. I love how OP does just that from the table to the keyboard and monitor.
8. Personalize Your Space

Next on the list, we’ve got this super adorable sky-blue themed setup. Although the build is minimal, I love OP’s use of the vine to bring life into the space. Alternatively, I really like this cute fairy lights idea from Crossingani, too.
9. Use Statement Pieces

The wood-stained desk perfectly complements the soft pink colors of the monitor wallpaper and keyboard.
Another piece of advice? Choose colors that accentuate the space, rather than compete against each other.
This desk is from Ergonofis but here’s a cheaper alternative from Amazon.
10. Add Accents

In this build, I like how OP incorporates dark statement pieces to draw attention to them among the soft pastel backdrop—like the PC case, keyboard, and monitor wallpaper.
My tip? Instead of small pieces of accessories here and there that will clutter the space, invest in a few statement pieces.
Fractal Design’s North Face series of wood-integrated PC cases always look elegant, so I am sharing them below.
11. Black and Crisp

So far, I’ve only mentioned white-inspired builds, but let’s turn the table around and talk about this minimalist black setup.
The lighting hits the desk at just the right spot, creating those crips lines for a clean look.
12. White Themed Setup

This one is opposite the one above, featuring a predominantly white theme.
OP is currently using the LG 27UK650 monitor in this setup. Don’t plan to do a lot of gaming but need the 4K resolution? Then, this will work for you.
Conclusion
